Puppy
Classes
Beginner
The primary goal of our
puppy classes is to produce willingly compliant, well-mannered,
easily handle-able adult dogs. Our off-leash Beginner Puppy classes are
for puppies between 10 weeks and 5 months of age (see Young
Adult Manners and Obedience for pooches over 5 months).
Class priorities are teaching Bite Inhibition (so your puppy
develops a soft mouth), socializing your puppy to people
(especially children, men, and strangers) and other dogs, and
teaching basic manners such as sit, down, stand, and come. This
is a 6 week class. There must
be a total of 6 dogs registered for the class to be held. You should plan on attending all
six classes! The cost
for this class is $80.
These
off-leash classes are reserved for Beginner Puppy
Graduates only. Also, your pup also must not be older than18
months of age to register. In Advanced Puppy classes, dogs
and owners learn higher level obedience, including walking the
pup on a loose leash, heeling, placement commands ("Go to
your mat and settle down"), stays with heavy distractions,
emergency recall, emergency down, and distance commands and
recalls from play sessions. It is best to attend a Advanced
Puppy class just as your dog is entering adolescence, usually
around six to nine months of age to build good habits during
this "teenage" stage of development. This is a 6
week class. The cost for this class is $70. If you
register and pay for both the Beginner Puppy and the Advanced
Puppy classes at the same time, the total cost is $130.
Adult

are too old to register for Beginner Puppy Class. We teach you

dog, and how to apply them in your day-to-day life. Our Young
Adult classes are for quiet, people-friendly and dog-friendly
dogs between the ages of 5 months and two years of age. Older dogs may be accepted if the
owner has recently (within 3 months) adopted or otherwise
acquired the dog. Classes are taught on leash at all times.

crazies), Reward training: Watch, Stays, and Walking on a loose
leash, Lure/Reward training position changes - Sit, Down and

A detail-oriented class that builds on the foundation skills of
Young Adult Manners & Obedience . The focus is on your
dog’s reliability in responding to your requests on the first
try, as well as reliability and focus in the presence of
distractions. We will cover real-life manners training scenarios
such as recalls away from food and other dogs, polite loose
leash walking, Heel, Leave it and drop it, go to your mat,
emergency recall, emergency down, motion commands, come-to-heel
position, and some tricks. In Young Adult Refined Manners. we also focus on
using hand signals and verbal requests to control your dog,
minimizing the need for food rewards or a leash to communicate
effectively.
Your dog is ready for Young Adult Refined Manners if she can
focus on you most of the time in class, and can do sits, downs,
and come with out a lure. If you're not there yet, you're
welcome to repeat Young Adult Basic for more practice before
moving forward, after all practice makes perfect!
This
is a 6 week class. The cost for this class is $70. If you register and pay for both the Young Adult Manners and the
Adult Refined Manners classes at the same time, the total cost
